Frequently asked questions

Straight answers — including the two questions every applicant should ask a facilitator.

Can I include my family?

Yes. A Golden Visa holder can sponsor their spouse and children, and parents can also be included under the current rules. Each dependent is added to the same application, which is why the form asks how many dependents you plan to include.

Do I need to live in the UAE full-time?

No. The Golden Visa has no minimum stay requirement, so it stays valid even if you spend long periods outside the UAE — unlike a standard residency visa, which lapses after six months abroad.

What are the tax benefits?

The UAE levies no personal income tax, no capital-gains tax on personal investments and no inheritance tax. Your tax position in other countries depends on their rules and your residency status there — we recommend independent tax advice for your own situation.

What happens if I sell my property before 10 years?

The property route is tied to holding qualifying property. If the property is sold and no other qualifying asset replaces it, the residency may be reviewed or cancelled by the authorities. Talk to your case manager before selling so a replacement or alternative route can be planned.

Is GovConnect a government entity?

No. GovConnect is a private, licensed PRO consultancy. We are not GDRFA, ICP, or any UAE government body. We assist with documentation and submission on your behalf.

Is approval guaranteed?

No company can guarantee government approval. We guarantee our documentation is prepared to the highest standard to maximise your application's strength — the decision itself rests solely with GDRFA/ICP.
